Salary - £23,048 - £24,113 per annum (additional interim allowance while uplifted annual salary figures are implemented) - 12 month fixed term going to 0.5FTE after a year

Avanti Gardens School is seeking a dedicated Premises Officer to join our vibrant team. In this role, you’ll ensure our school shines by carrying out essential operational, cleaning, and maintenance activities. You’ll oversee our real estate, uphold health and safety standards, manage security, and ensure our facilities are top-notch. What will you do?

  • Maintain the premises, grounds, and car park, ensuring cleanliness and safety, and perform emergency weather-related tasks.
  • Manage incoming goods and mail, set up rooms for events, and handle janitorial duties to support school operations.
  • Perform maintenance and handyperson tasks, including painting and grounds upkeep, and monitor car park usage.
  • Conduct security activities, such as unlocking/locking the school, setting alarms, and responding to security incidents.
  • Assist with fire alarm tests, fire drills, and emergency responses, and support other Avanti schools with projects as needed.

What are we looking for?

  • Good communication skills; written and verbal.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Numeracy and Literacy.
  • General knowledge of building maintenance procedures and relevant skills
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and security issues.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good organisational skills- ability to meet deadlines and make decisions in emergencies.
